Urban Innovator

Copenhagen Living Lab spearheaded a project that uncovered ways to develop value-creating cooperation between a youth culture and an innovative corporate culture.

CHALLENGE
More and more young people do not complete a youth education programme. Pupils from socially weak areas need recognition, and they can achieve this by e.g. contributing with their knowledge.

The primary goal of the project was to study how an innovative business culture and a youth culture in a disadvantaged housing estate can be part of a collaboration that generates value for both parties.

FINDINGS
Training pupils as product developers is important because it strengthens their professional skills.

Involving businesses in the project is essential for generating value for the pupils and for giving the businesses input to, e.g., product development.

The business gets insight into a relevant user group’s everyday life and interests.

SOLUTION
Copenhagen Living Lab co-ordinated the collaboration between the partners while simultaneously carrying out observations and subsequent interviews, which resulted in an assessment of the project.
