CHALLENGE
There is a lack of new contemporary, simple and clear information on local authority healthcare initiatives.

How can a new, large local authority get the healthcare workers from its three constituent former local authorities to work together to create modern, updated healthcare initiatives?

FINDINGS
A large number of people did not realise that healthcare initiatives are also pro-active and preventive.

Many of the inhabitants chose not to use the public sectors’ healthcare initiatives because of misinformation, lack of confidence in the authorities and erroneous understanding of the professionalism and service level.

Inactive citizens generally lacked an overview of and information about the initiatives.

SOLUTION
Based on research, a solution was devised that included a name change from ‘Rebild Municipality’s Department for Promoting Health and Training’ to ‘Healthy Rebild’, a new visual identity – including a new mascot that functions as a unifying symbol for the local authority’s new healthcare initiative – and the organisation of a new healthcare centre. Clear goals and visions were established and new job descriptions were written for the staff, resulting in better co-operation. The initiative has generated greater visibility and greater public support.
